Our Roots
Our founder, Wanda Scholz, entered the market as an IT Contractor after graduating from the University of Maryland with a degree in Information Systems Management. She was then an integral part of building and growing one of the first and largest staffing firms in the DC area. Building upon this experience, she took her unique understanding of recruitment processes, technical acumen and “contractor” perspective, and created the core concepts which define Babbage:
Understand and analyze our clients’ needs and the technology associated with those needs, so we don’t waste our clients time delivering a cat when they asked for a dog. Along the same lines, don’t waste our time or contractors time calling dogs when we are looking for cats.
Treat our potential contractors, existing contractors and alumni as treasured relationships who are the foundation of our livelihood.

Babbage leverages our network and recruiting engine to provide the best talent to support our clients in a continuous improvement model. We provide long-term staffing solutions. FOCUS - Our focus on a handful of clients allows us to provide a higher value service by expanding our network prescriptively to our clients’ current and future needs.
FLEXIBILITY - The typical staffing model supports Contract, Temporary to Permanent and Permanent Placement. We also provide that service to you, your subcontractors and any other entity that supports your mission. As we develop our understanding and capability, we will share risk, support proposal efforts, and provide deliverable based solutions.
